BPPA Challenges TAPPA to a Print Competition

The annual Battle of the Bays is an image competition between the Tampa Area Professional Photographers and the Bay Professional Photographers. The competition has been going on for over 7 years. It was originated by Debbie Alcorn (Tappa), Kate Hill-Moore (Bay) and Al Gordon (Bay). It is usually held in June of each year, and each guild takes turns hosting the event. There are two major trophies awarded- One for the guild with the overall highest average image score, and a plate for the overall best in show image. Each guild will also have their individual guild awards. There are usually well over 100 images entered each year. There are 4 judges, picked from the top master photographers in the state. The members take this competition seriously, with an aire of fun camaraderie. It is always an incredible learning experience for all involved, whether you enter or not. This will be the first all digital Battle ever. Don't miss it!
